The standard 50mm lens to partner with your K1000 but with an upwards twist - it has a macro function allowing focus down to an amazing 24cm. Being macro the front lens element is recessed so no need for a lens hood. Focus ring has a good feel, quite light but sufficiently damped to acquire accurate focus without too much fiddling.
